    David Robertson is the author of soon-to-be-released book Brick by Brick: How LEGO Reinvented its Innovation System and Conquered the Toy Industry. He is Professor of Practice at the Wharton School where he teaches Innovation and Product Development. From 2002 through 2010, Robertson was the LEGO Professor of Innovation and Technology Management at Switzerland’s Institute for Management Development (IMD), which received the #1 worldwide ranking by the Financial Times for its executive education programs. Prior to IMD, David was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, a consultant at McKinsey & Company for 5 years, and an executive at four enterprise software companies. He has been published in Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, and many other journals.

    Terry McBride is the current CEO and one of three founders of the Nettwerk Music Group, which includes Nettwerk Productions (Canada’s largest independent record label), Nettwerk Management (artist and producer management), Nettwerk One (publishing), and Artwerks (graphic and fashion design). Since its inception, Nettwerk has released over 600 different albums and sold over 160 million albums worldwide with such renown artists as Avril Lavigne, Coldplay, Dido, Fun, Wanting and Sarah McLachlan. In 2008, McBride co-authored a paper for the British University of Westminster’s “Musictank” entitled Meet the Millennials that became a marketing template for musicians in the digital space. In 2004, McBride stepped onto a yoga mat for the first time by way of recommendation from a friend, and it wasn't long before he realized that yoga offered him more than just a flexible body and mind. Acting on this realization, McBride along with his friend and yoga instructor, Lara Kozan, launched a chain of wellness centers called YYoga. McBride’s latest endeavor combines his two principle passions in the re-launch of Nutone Music.

He has worked as past Creative Director for Coca Cola, Pontiac, Buick and GMC. His blog radicaltrust.ca is listed in Advertising Age’s Power Bloggers and is referenced on the syllabus at Emily Carr University’s studies in Social Science.

In the past, he designed a game called PMOG, a dating app, Zoosk, made personal q&a on Formspring more awesome, and worked on hush-hush stuff at Amazon. He believes good design can change the world (or at the very least create extremely compelling and addictive applications).

    Ken is an experienced mobile app and game designer who is currently the CEO/Co-founder of Massive Damage.  Massive Damage is a Toronto gaming studio dedicated to building the future of massively multiplayer games on mobile. They’ve released a hit top grossing hit game called Please Stay Calm, a location-based, massively multiplayer zombie apocalypse game for the iPhone and iPad.

    He is also the co-founder of Endloop Mobile, a leading mobile development studio building some of the most entertaining and innovative iPhone and iPad applications on the market, garnering media attention from Wired, Mashable, WSJ and others.

    Dr. Garnet Hertz is an artist, designer, and theorist whose work explores themes of DIY culture, technological progress, innovation and interdisciplinarity. Hertz is Artist in Residence and Research Scientist in Informatics at UC Irvine, faculty in the Media Design Program at Art Center College of Design, and Assistant Director of the EVOKE Lab at UCI. He has shown his work at several notable international venues in thirteen countries including SIGGRAPH, Ars Electronica, and DEAF and was awarded the 2008 Oscar Signorini Award in robotic art. He is founder and director of Dorkbot SoCal, a monthly Los Angeles-based lecture series on DIY culture, electronic art and design. His research is widely cited in academic publications, and popular press on his work has disseminated through 25 countries including The New York Times, Wired, The Washington Post, NPR, USA Today, NBC, CBS, TV Tokyo and CNN Headline News.

He is a member of the eBay Inventors Club for his multiple patent contributions, and is a two-time recipient of the PayPalian Award. Additionally, Taveau, founded and led Fluctuat LLC and has held senior positions at Cardsoft, Renesas, Ridgerun, and Motorola SPS (now Freescale). Sebastien acquired a postgraduate degree in International Business Administration (DESS GEI eq. IBA/EBS) from the University of Paris 1 — Pantheon Sorbonne and an MS in Business Management from the University of Tours in France.

    Heather Payne is the founder of Ladies Learning Code,  a Toronto-based not-for-profit startup that runs popular workshops for women (and men) who want to learn computer programming and other technical skills in a social and collaborative way. In 2012, she founded HackerYou as  a way to bring more intensive technology learning experiences to Toronto and beyond. Recently she spent a year working on a project for the  Mozilla Foundation: her job was to build a community of people and organizations in Toronto who care about raising youth as creators – not  just consumers – of technology and the web. In December 2012, the project was granted $365,000 in funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Heather was an early investor in ShopLocket, and in a former life, she helped startups like Pinpoint Social and Shopcastr to acquire their first users. In her spare time, she enjoys building websites and furthering her knowledge of Ruby on Rails.

    Judith Beauregard has an enviable 20-year track record of developing digital media, games, websites and mobile applications for kids. She has collaborated with many world-class junior brands such as PBS Kids, Sesame Street, NickJr, The Jim Henson Company and KidsCBC. As a founder of the interactive studio Toboggan, she brings infectious enthusiasm for youth product to all her collaborations with producers and broadcasters. Previously Judith was a digital media producer at Tribal Nova and at ODD1, where she led award-winning Web projects for kids and preschoolers. She also worked for NDi Media and PTM Kids in the development of interactive youth products related to renowned Canadian and European television series. Judith is inspired by the intersection of fun and learning. She earned a Bachelor of Communications from Concordia University and a Certificate in Project Management from McGill University. Judith also teaches interactive financing, partner and client management, team building and project management at l’INIS (National Institute of Sound & Image).

Most recently, Norm co-founded Normal Agency. In his spare time he likes to restore old electronics from the 30’s, work on his 1963 Mercury, read a book and hyper-organize things.

    Lynda Brown-Ganzert’s accomplishments are well-known in Vancouver’s digital-media industry. While serving as the president of New Media B.C. from 2002 to 2007, she helped put together the business plan and raise money for the establishment of the Centre for Digital Media at the Great Northern Way Campus. Brown-Ganzert was also the founding president of the Canadian Interactive Alliance, which brought provincial associations together to advocate on behalf of the industry at the national level.

    Born in Powell River, Brown-Ganzert is now heading up her own Vancouver-based startup. She’s the Founder of zuluMe - a micro private social network that uses a mobile mood ring. She is an advisor to TalentClick and serves on the boards of Simon Fraser University’s, ITAC, Vancouver International Film Festival and informally mentors startup companies.

    Prem previously spent almost a decade at CHUM Limited, her last position was as Director of Regulatory Affairs. Prior to that she was Director of Public Affairs and Multi-Cultural Programming at Citytv Vancouver where she supervised the production of local favourites such as CityCooks and CineCity. Prem was also the creator and host of ColourTV; a Vancouver talk show which focused on underrepresented Canadian voices and stories. In 2006 Prem received the Special Jury Award from Women in Film and Television Vancouver for her commitment to diversity in Canadian media.     As an active board member, mentor, speaker, and charter member of C100, David is constantly looking for ways to help out early stage start-ups as well as entrepreneurial minded University students.

    Ian is a User Research Project Manager at Ubisoft Montreal (Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs) where he is responsible for user research and analytics for the Far Cry Brand. Most recently, Ian lead the user research effort for Ubisoft's critically acclaimed Far Cry 3. In his free time, Ian works as the 2012-2013 Chair of the IGDA Games User Research (GUR) SIG, where he promotes the use of games user research as an effective method for the improvement of player experience in games. Before working at Ubisoft, Ian contributed to the user research effort for Alien Trap's indie game, and 2012 Canadian Videogame Awards Finalist, Capsized. During his time as a student at the University of Saskatchewan Ian published and contributed to research articles in the fields of user research and psychology, presented his work at international conferences including SIGGRAPH, and was selected for the department of computer science's best graduate student in 2011. Ian has a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Saskatchewan, and over 4 years of experience in games user research.

His innovations in government technology and design have pushed the industry including transparency, security, mobile payment, and usability standards.

Intergalactic is a digital agency specializing in custom apps, interactive installations, websites and visualizations. Intergalactic's clients include the Oracle Education Foundation, SXSW, Telus, BMW, the Calgary Stampede and other global brands.

    From 1996-2002 Ben built and operated the technical systems of StockHouse.com which was the largest website in Canada during the dotcom era with over one billion dynamic page views per year.  Ben was also selected as one of Business in Vancouver’s “40 Under 40” and has a BA Honours in Media Studies from Queen’s University.

    Matt Voyno is a polymath music man. He has been involved in the digital music space for over 15 years and has extensive experience in the world of creative arts. Through managing and promoting music, bands and events, he has created a unique skill set that has led him to become an author, speaker, artist manager, musician and digital marketer. In 2012, Voyno spoke at the TEDxUofS about the power of the internet’s participatory culture. He also joined the international mobile, social media and music conference MoSo Fest as their marketing and sponsorship coordinator. Together with Roshan Hoover, Matt will co-host a session on how to go from blogging to becoming an internationally published author in the digital world. Voyno and Hoover’s ideas have resonated with musicians around the world and have inspired them to embrace change.

    Rob Calder has spent the better part of two decades producing, managing and performing with bands like The Salteens, Stars, 54-40, The Cave Singers and The Belle Game. In 2003, he co-founded Boompa, an independent record label and artist management company which represents some of Canada’s diverse indie talent. Rob is also a seasoned producer, having executed photoshoots for Kokanee, Vitamin Water and BC Hydro as well as commercials for George Strombolopolous and Nikon. In 2010, Rob formed the creative agency, Secret Study, to connect brands with music in order to create meaningful experiences. Secret Study has now become a source for Talent Buying, Music Management and Supervision and consulting for companies like Telus, Astral Media, and Fairmont Hotels.

He facilitates the Regina Technology Community (RTC) - providing free monthly talks to developers, architects, managers, and students. He recently helped organize BarCampYQR.  He has also authored a book on the Stripes framework.  Brent lives in Regina with his wife and two children. In his spare time he plays with his children, plays the guitar, does technical editing for a large book publisher, and plays with new technologies.

    In a past life, Brendan has worked for Cameco Corporation as a geophysicist and holds an advanced degree in physics from the University of Saskatchewan. Those of you who are familiar with him will know that his laugh is frequent, infectious, and identifiable in a room full of 200 people.
